The Bachelor's S29 Episode 2 thrust 31-year-old Grant Ellis and his remaining 18 women into a week of first dates that would set the tone for the season ahead.

First group date ends in tears and confrontation. The episode launched with a basketball-themed group date that quickly turned contentious when Zoe broke from the group to steal private time with Grant. Fellow contestant Alli Jo confronted her about the "wrong place, wrong time" move, setting up the season's first major feud.

Mall one-on-one date reveals deeper emotional connection. Grant's private date with First Impression Rose winner Alexe transformed from playful mall adventures to profound revelations. Alexe opened up about her complicated family history, including a 17-year separation from her father, while Grant showcased his romantic side with an impromptu piano performance.

Second group date also spirals into tension. A musical challenge featuring R&B singer Mario took an uncomfortable turn when Carolina's passionate makeout session with Grant (that she rightfully earned for winning the group competition) left other contestants visibly rattled. The tension spilled into the cocktail party, with multiple women confronting Carolina about the "awkward" PDA.

Major breakthrough leads to dramatic rose choices. Litia earned a group date rose after a candid conversation about Grant's "triggering" night one comment, while Natalie secured her rose by showing strong maternal instincts during the basketball date. The night concluded with four eliminations: Allyshia (which was a shocker after their Night 1 chemistry), Ella, Rebekah, and Vicky.

Hope remains as contestant pool narrows. Despite the growing drama, Grant expressed confidence in his journey, stating "I really believe my future wife is here." With 14 women remaining and blood pressure slightly elevated, next week promises even more emotional developments.
